Our mission is to reduce preventable newborn deaths by providing life-saving training and equipment to midwives in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The For Mamas Story
For Mamas was born when a group of leaders wanted to formalize a way to provide ongoing newborn resuscitation training and supply distribution throughout Zanzibar.
In 2015, these leaders started on a quest to reduce newborns deaths after losing babies that needed resuscitation. After 6+ years of grassroots efforts the team decided to formalize and scale their efforts with the conception of For Mamas.
For Mamas is a registered NGO (nongovernmental organization) in Zanzibar and the United States (501c3).
